Event descriptionARTHURS SEAT EAGLEis proposing a $25m scale up, including:
STAGE 1: Base Station demolition and rebuild to include a ticketed sound/light show.
STAGE 2: Rollercoaster style luge zig-sagging top to bottom and returning - ie no station at bottom
STAGE 3: Summit Station expansion including an imposing 8-storey viewing tower, 2nd restaurant and raised bridge to the luge station.
Arthurs Seat Eagle submitted an application to the Minister for Planning in September 2024. The Minister is currently requesting additional information. Once satisfied, the application will be made public for at least 14 days, during which the public can submit formal feedback. If the Minister approves the proposal, there will be NO hearings at VCAT, and the Minister's decision will be final.
If approved, impacts include: Increased erosion and landslide risks, larger scar on Arthurs Seat North face, fragmentation of wildlife corridors, worsening of traffic and parking conditions, destruction of native flora, threat to wildlife sanctuary and serious bushfire concerns.
SAVE OUR SEAT (SoS) supports sensible and sustainable, eco-tourism. Intrusive rides and profit driven structures in a state park do not align with these values. With your help we CAN STOP Arthurs Seat State Park becoming a THEME PARK. E
