Saucers Over Appalachia is a free annual UFO festival held in downtown Bristol at Cumberland Square Park from 10 AM–5 PM. Inspired by the region’s famous 1973 UFO wave, the festival blends local history, mystery, and Appalachian culture into a full day of exploration and fun. Guests can experience UFO speakers, live music, vendors, food trucks, tattoos, photo ops, a costume contest, themed activities, and more while celebrating one of Appalachia’s strangest stories.
