Saturday Sunset Series: Late Nights at The Floathouse

As it turns out… Petalumans really like staying out late on the river.
After a hugely popular debut season in 2025, our Saturday Sunset Series returns for 2026 with six special evenings of golden-hour paddling, peaceful vibes, and community on the water.
On select Saturdays from May through October, The Floathouse Petaluma stays open late so you can enjoy the Petaluma River at its absolute prettiest.
Rent a kayak, canoe, SUP board, pedal kayak, or water bike and launch right from downtown Petaluma. And as usual, you can launch from our dock if you've got your own craft.
Paddle past the outdoor dining scene around the Turning Basin, cruise under the D Street Bridge, drift into the quieter marshy channel—or, when the tide is high, sneak upstream into hidden stretches of river that feel a world away from downtown.
Bring friends. Bring snacks. Bring your pup. Bring your peaceful intentions.
If the river's new to you and you'd like a little guidance, let us know when you arrive. We plan to start guided paddles at 5:30 pm. (No extra charge!)
We’re also hoping to feature a DJ on many of these evenings, creating an easygoing dockside atmosphere while the sun goes down.

• May 16 — open until 8:30 pm
• June 20 — open until 8:30 pm
• July 18 — open until 8:30 pm
• August 15 — open until 8:30 pm
• September 12 — open until 7:30 pm
(Right after the Annual Craft Beer Festival on Water Street 🍻)
• October 10 — open until 6:30 pm
Sunset changes. So do the tides. Closing times shift naturally with the season.
