Labyrinth Walk with Live Crystal Bowl Sound Bath
Start your weekend grounded and refreshed. Join us for a morning of gentle movement and sound as you walk our labyrinth to the live, resonant tones of crystal singing bowls. Prefer stillness? Bring a yoga mat or settle into a chair and let the sound wash over you as you rest.
Everyone is welcome, whether this is your hundredth labyrinth walk or your very first. There's no right way to do this and no experience needed. Come for a few minutes or stay for the whole morning. Registration is not required.
Schedule
2nd Saturday of every month
10:30 am: Doors open
11:00 am – 12:00 pm: Live sound bath
Until 12:30 pm: Labyrinth remains open for quiet walking
New to labyrinths?
Walking a labyrinth is an ancient meditative practice, found in cultures around the world, used for centering, reflection, and finding clarity, especially during times of change. Unlike a maze, a labyrinth has no tricks, no dead ends, and no wrong turns. There is a single winding path that leads to the centre and back out again, so you can let go of figuring out where you're going and simply walk.
Many people like to think of the walk in three parts: releasing what no longer serves you on the way in, pausing in the centre to rest and receive, and carrying whatever you've found with you on the way out. Others simply enjoy the quiet rhythm of their footsteps. Walk at whatever pace feels right. Many first-timers are surprised by how peaceful it is, and the sound of the bowls adds another layer to the experience.
Our labyrinth is a full 13-metre replica of the medieval labyrinth set into the stone floor of the 13th-century Chartres Cathedral in France.
What is a sound bath?
A sound bath is a relaxing, immersive experience in which you're "bathed" in sound and vibration. Crystal singing bowls produce long, clear, resonant tones that you can hear and often feel in your body. Sound has been used for meditation and self-care for centuries, and many people find it helps quiet a busy mind and ease the body into a deeply relaxed, almost dreamlike state. There's nothing you need to do but listen. Some people drift into stillness, some find their thoughts wandering somewhere new, and some simply enjoy a restful hour.
Good to know:
Shoes are removed in the labyrinth space, so you may want to wear comfortable socks.
Chairs are provided for anyone who would like to listen without walking, and there's space for yoga mats.
Bottled water is welcome; no other food or drinks, please.
Cash donations for labyrinth upkeep are appreciated but never required.
