Hike and lunch afterwards at black owned soul food spot Roderick’s off 98th Ave. The owner let me know he hooking us up when we come in for BBQ and chill with him.
Hike should last 2.5 hours. Should be about 7 miles. Not the toughest hike we have ever done. Let’s be intentional to come out, connect with Mother Nature, actively. Let’s be intentional to pay attention to our bodies and breathe and maybe anything that we are working on within that we let life distract us from during the week.
So, every hike may not be critical but, for one, maybe a couple, maybe this hike can be pivotal in your life. Maybe it’s just what you need to pivot from where you are now. Maybe it is just what you need to kick your own butt. And maybe you struggle a little. Maybe you don’t look so great stretching before the hike. Maybe your mobility isn’t the best. But, you look a lot better than sitting at home. And so what? Nobody is judging you. You will be fine. These hikes have all levels of hikers on them and you will meet a diverse group of new and old hikers each week.
So let’s get out, get social, walk, hike and climb some hills to fire up them glutes.
Bring water, shoes with traction, a 510 shirt of any color (unless you are new, we want to give you time) and a smile packed and ready to unleash because guess what? Why not? Why be stingy or stubborn and just sitting with energy and an attitude. No, we pull them weeds. Just good folks allowed, our folks, the 100 or 10 best in the Bay Area, no hike fee or dues required here. Donations never turned back. Always suggest tipping the people who bring life experience to you. Just like you tip that bartender for pouring a drink.
