Join your library for our Saturday Matinee series where we show hit movies from the past and present for the community to enjoy. Geared for teens and adults, all ages are invited out for this afternoon showing of a 2024 live-action adaptation of the hit Broadway musical inspired by the book by Gregory Maguire and starring Cynthia Erivo & Ariana Grande. In this film, Elphaba, a young woman ridiculed for her green skin, and Glinda, a popular girl, become friends at Shiz University in the Land of Oz. After an encounter with the Wonderful Wizard of Oz, their friendship reaches a crossroads. This film is rated PG for some scary action, thematic material, and brief suggestive material, and has a run time of 2 hours and 40 minutes.
