Do you ever wonder how organisms like fireflies or jellyfish glow? In this hands-on workshop, participants will extract and purify Green Fluorescent Protein (GFP) from genetically engineered bacteria. Then, unleash your creativity with agar art—using colorful, engineered bacteria as living "paint" on nutrient plates. Interested participants can even submit their artwork to the national ASM Agar Art competition!
Ages 10 and up; no adult chaperone required.
