About this Event

Less Thinking. More Making.

Many artists overwork their paintings because they don’t trust they’re finished. Learn how to quiet self-doubt, trust your instincts, and create with greater confidence and freedom.

In This Workshop:

Discover a fresh approach to painting that quiets overthinking and unlocks creativity. Using a reference image revealed gradually throughout the class, you'll learn to trust the process, create expressive layers, and enjoy the freedom of painting without the pressure of perfection.
Join us as we explore:

  • How to simplify a painting into shapes, values, and color.
  • Techniques for expressive mark making and layering.
  • How to let go of perfectionism and trust the painting process.
  • Ways to build depth and interest through intuitive painting.
  • How to confidently develop an abstract-inspired painting from start to finish.

Students will take home an expressive acrylic painting on canvas featuring rich, developed layers, expressive mark making, and beautiful texture. Each piece will be uniquely their own—a one-of-a-kind work of art created through an intuitive, freeing, and engaging painting process.

Drawing skills not required.
Ideal for artists who tend to overthink, overwork, or struggle to know when to stop. Perfect for anyone looking to paint with more confidence, freedom, and trust in their creative process.
