Escape beneath the waves as you paint a colorful sea turtle surrounded by vibrant marine life. This relaxing San Diego art workshop teaches step-by-step acrylic painting techniques while helping you create a beautiful piece of art.

In This Workshop:

Create a vibrant underwater painting featuring a sea turtle and colorful marine life in this beginner-friendly acrylic painting workshop in San Diego. Through step-by-step instruction, you’ll build confidence with acrylic painting techniques while enjoying a fun, relaxing creative experience.
Throughout the workshop, you’ll explore techniques that bring underwater scenes to life, including:

• Designing an ocean scene
• Color mixing to create vibrant water, coral, and marine life
• Expressive brushwork
• Creating realistic shading
• Painting colorful sea turtles, fish, coral, and other underwater subjects

Never painted before? No problem! Michele shows students her quick and simple process to get started.
Students will walk away with a ready-to-hang 12x12 painting of our local and beloved San Diego sea turtle in their home—for you to enjoy in yours.

Supply List for Students to Bring:

This is a studio workshop and students will be using the supplies they bring.

• (1) 12x12 canvas that has 1.5 inch thickness—or close to it so it's deep
• acrylic paint in various colors, including primaries and earth tones
• various acrylic brushes including small sizes for details
• Palette knife
• Palette paper
• Instructor will provide sea turtle images
• Quality paper towels like Viva or Blue Shop
