Schedule

The first Granny Square pattern was found in Prairie Farmer magazine in 1885. Since then this pattern has been adapted, modified and transformed many times. If you are a child of the 70s you definitely remember the Granny Square. And it's a great small project for starting to learn the basic crochet stitches.
The first half of the workshop we'll learn something about the history of the craft and how it was used in the past and then begin learning basic stitches and starting our first granny square.
There will be a lunch break at 12:30. Bring your own, or we'll provide you with a list of downtown eateries to enjoy.
At 1:30 we will start back. You can continue working on what you've learned by making granny squares in different forms. Or you can begin using what we learned in the morning to make your choice of a number of cool summer accessories. You can embellish a pair of flip flops, make a make-up pouch, or a headband, or a hair scrunchie. All materials are provided except for the flip flops. You'll need to bring your own flip flops to be sure they are the right size.
The workshop will end at 3:30 but we are open until 7:00 so stay a bit and shop.
Limit of seven(7) participants. You must register and pay to reserve your spot. Cost for the workshop is $40 per person which includes all materials. To ask questions or register, contact Nany at [email protected]
