Join us in beautiful downtown Erwin, Tennessee for the annual Sassafras Moon Herbal Festival (SassyFest)! Hosted by HERBalachia, this is a free, family-friendly community gathering entirely dedicated to celebrating regional heritage, plant wisdom, and traditional herbalism.
2026 Theme: "The Rebirth of the Nolichucky River"
This year, as we gather together on Union Street, we are filled with hope and gratitude as we honor the incredible resilience of our community and the beautiful, shifting natural world around us. This festival is a joyful celebration and heartfelt dedication to every hand that reached out to support our neighbors, our environment, and our beloved river after the 2024 floods. Together, we are stepping into a bright future. We are honoring the magnificent adaptability of our changing ecosystem, learning from nature’s power to heal, and celebrating the enduring spirit of unity and renewal that connects us all to the land and to each other!
Free Herbal Classes: Taught by local, professional herbalists across three downtown venues (held rain or shine, no registration required to attend!).
Herbal Product Vendors: Shop from over 40+ incredible handmade, herbal-based businesses, local makers, and artisans.
Community & Fun: Enjoy regional food trucks, a dedicated Kid’s Zone, and great energy.
