Saskatoon's dinner theatre — Mini Fridge Theatre Company (MFT) is holding open auditions in Saskatoon for our upcoming season of comedies, farces, and character‑driven plays. We are Saskatoon’s long‑running comedy dinner theatre, and we’re looking for performers with strong comedic instincts, good timing, and a collaborative spirit. If you or someone you know lives in the Saskatoon area and would thrive in a fun, supportive rehearsal room, this is a great local opportunity.
WHAT TO EXPECT AT THE AUDITION
Auditions are low‑pressure and require no preparation. You’ll read from provided scripts. When you arrive, you’ll fill out a short information form that helps us get to know you. It asks about your theatre experience, any helpful skills you bring to a production, your comfort level with common stage situations, and your general availability. There are no wrong answers. The room is relaxed and supportive, with a focus on timing, connection, and comedic instincts rather than polished performance. Everyone who auditions is considered for the entire season.

We work best with adults of all ages who enjoy comedy, timing, character work, and working as part of a team. We value performers who show up, collaborate well, and keep things positive. Reliability, good humour, and a love of the rehearsal process go a long way at Mini Fridge. Performers with a range of experience tend to thrive here, especially those who enjoy the rhythm and teamwork that comedy demands.
IMPORTANT NOTE FOR RETURNING MFT ACTORS
If you’ve performed with Mini Fridge Theatre Company before, you do not need to attend auditions. You're already in consideration for the upcoming season! We know your work, your strengths, and your performance style, and we’re grateful for everything you’ve brought to our stage. To keep these audition nights focused and efficient, we’re dedicating them to learning about performers who are new to the MFT stage (even if they've auditioned previously).
