SAS 30: Theater Acting

Laura Stisser and Joe Cunningham, Co-Founders of the Syracuse Actors Studio, lead every session together.
Join the Syracuse Actors Studio for their 30th session and learn more about theater acting. We are featuring 3 seasoned theatre actors: Binaifer Dabu, Carolyn Chave, & Jay Merante. Leading the program is moderator Donna Stuccio!.
The panel's topics pertain to theatre acting, including auditioning, rehearsal, performance, and receiving notes. The actors will also put on a demonstration to illustrate.
Performances are back! We will have several performances this session: scenes by Dave Spiro & Aaron Buitron, John Triana & Laura Stisser, Paul Smith directing Michael Benjamin & Wendy Volpe, a special performance by Derek Potocki & his troupe, and two monologues by Diane Bostick & Claudia Coonan.
SAS is open to actors of all levels and backgrounds; whether you’re a seasoned pro or just starting out, you are welcome to come and participate or observe. There is no barrier of entry.
We are looking for volunteers! We need help with setup/breakdown/cleanup, welcome committee, tech help, and photography. If you’d like to volunteer (we really appreciate it), contact our VP Laura Stisser at [email protected].
Concessions are available for purchase to support our host, and we will be donating pizza for them to sell as well.
As always, at the end we will have a small amount of time for announcements if anyone wants to plug a show, announce casting, or the like.
Doors open at 6:30 PM; session starts at 7 sharp! Come early to network, socialize, and buy concessions. Stay after as well to network and socialize. We have a hat out for donations, or you can use the QR code on the hat to donate to SAS with your phone. We split donations 50/50 with our generous host, The Palace Theatre!
