Santet is a black metal band that was formed in 1997 and hails from the island of Java in Indonesia. Their name is Javanese for "black magic" and their brand of black metal puts emphasis on this. The dark and the occult are themes that permeate their almost ritualistic music, as they channel the atmosphere of Javanese mysticism through raw and uncompromising black metal.
With nearly three decades behind them, Santet has established themselves as a force in the Indonesian underground, releasing a steady stream of albums and split records while maintaining a fierce live reputation. Their sound is harsh, direct, and deeply tied to their cultural roots, giving their music a distinct identity in today’s black metal landscape.
This will be their first time performing in Oslo and will be a rare chance to experience one of Indonesia’s longest-running black metal acts on a European stage.
