Santa Run 2026

Get ready to pull on your festive finest and join us at Barry Island for the Hope Rescue Santa Run 2026 Whether you run, jog, walk or bring the whole family along, every step you take will help us care for dogs who need Hope Rescue this Christmas.
We’ll be taking on a scenic route which is a 2.5km loop along the iconic coastline, with fantastic views across Barry Island, famously home to Gavin & Stacey. Complete one loop for 2.5K or, if you're feeling energetic, go around again and take on the full 5K.
The route is paved and accessible, although please be aware that there are some inclines along the way. Due to the width of the path, we ask our runners and walkers to stick to the right. If you are bringing your dog, please keep them on lead at all times and be mindful that there will be non-event participants using the same walk way.
Join us from 11am for our Christmas Market before the Santa Run officially gets underway at 12 noon. Come along, soak up the festive atmosphere and help us kick-start Christmas with a brilliant day by the sea all while raising vital funds for the dogs in our care.
Registration Costs
£12 per person
£40 for a group of four
Your registration includes your very own Hope Rescue Santa Run 2026 finisher medal.
Fancy dress is encouraged
Taking part is just the beginning. We’d love every Santa to raise as much as they can to support the dogs who will need us this Christmas. Raise £100 or more and you’ll receive one of our brand-new Hope Rescue bobble hats.
Every donation and every pound you raise will help provide food, warmth, veterinary treatment and a safe place for dogs who have nowhere else to turn. So, gather your family, friends, colleagues – and your best festive outfits – and join us at Barry Island for a Santa Run that really does make a difference.
Will you take on 2.5K or go for the full 5K? Sign up today and make your Christmas miles matter for dogs in need.
We are looking for festive crafts stallholders for our market, which will be under the pavilion next to the beach huts. Hope Rescue will be there with our stalls selling some of our amazing Handmade By Hope items, as well as a selection of top animal brands and merchandise.
Stall requirements are:
Set up before 11am when event opens.
3mx3m space per stall
Hard surface - stall holders will need to supply own weights and equipment
No electric supplied
Need to supply public liability
Closing 4pm
Price per stall £40 (no food or drinks stalls allowed at this event).
