Santa Rosa Salsa is Back and Returning with PurposeJoin us for the official return of Santa Rosa Salsa on Thursday, April 9, 2026 for a powerful night of music, dance, and community in support of a meaningful cause.
On August 9, 2023, I officially closed Santa Rosa Salsa so I could fully focus on opening Meyal International, formerly La Casita Day School, the first Spanish immersion preschool center in Sonoma County. It was a difficult but necessary decision, one that required my full heart, energy, and attention.
What feels especially meaningful is that my very first Salsa event in October 2000 was also a fundraiser for Kids Kingdom Orphanage in Ensenada, Mexico. For that reason, it feels especially fitting that the return of Santa Rosa Salsa begins with a fundraiser once again.
After two and a half years away, I truly did not think I would find myself here again. But after one night out dancing in early January, something in me reawakened. I felt drawn back by the music, the movement, and the joy of it all. Perhaps it is because I am older now, more grounded, and more confident in myself, but what I am experiencing through Salsa feels different this time. It feels freer, deeper, and more joyful.
