Santa Paws in the Park

Get into the howliday spirit with a pet parade, holiday outfit competition, photos with Santa, DIY treat wreath, Pup Cup Treat Bar, and more . . . an annual event in one of Kansas City’s premier parks!

The event and photos with Santa (on your phone/camera) are free. Upgraded options and activities are available, including commemorative photo ornament, FIY Treat Wreath Kit, Howliday Cookie Tray, and Upcycled Santa Paws Leashes.

Santa Paws in the Park is presented by Kansas City Parks & Recreation.
Proceeds go towards the maintenance of Loose Park.
Dogs must be on leashes at all times.

PHOTOS WITH SANTA: Gardening is one of Santa’s hobbies in the off-season so he will be dressed in festive gardening attire. Take a picture of your dog(s) with Santa in the Rose Garden with your camera/phone for free, or pre-purchase a print and commemorative ornament for just $5. For an additional $5, you get a fast pass to the front of the line!

PILLAR PET PARADE: Wear your holiday best, decorate your stroller or wagon, or match with your dog(s), as we parade around the Rose Garden Pillars led by Grand Marshal KC Wolf and Santa! Prizes for ugliest sweater, most creative/best DIY, best set (matching outfit with owner), and best group (5+). Parade lineup is at 12:45 PM in the Mall area north of the Garden Center. Parade begins at 1 p.m.

HOWLIDAY COOKIE TREAT TRAY: For a $10 donation, you can expand your pup’s palate with a #BarKCuterie #Howliday Cookie Tray that includes #DogFriendly versions of traditional Holiday favorites. Limited quantities available!

DIY TREAT WREATH: For a $10 donation, you will receive all the materials and instructions to create a wreath from 60 Three Dog Bakery Bones!!! Take and make at home for a fun craft night with your bestie.

UPCYCLED LEASH AND COMMEMORATIVE CHARM: For a $15 donation, you can pre-purchase a DubDog leash made from last year's Santa Paws banners with a commemorative Chonk & Charms dog tag.

IT'S ALL ABOUT THE DOGS! Well-mannered dogs who are friendly with strangers and other dogs are welcome to attend Santa Paws in the Park.

• Dogs must have all necessary vaccinations (including rabies if 6+ months).
• Dogs must be on a short leash and under control at all times.
• No retractable leashes or e-collars are allowed.
• Dogs must be healthy and friendly with dogs and people.
• Female dogs in any stage of heat MAY NOT attend.
• Please clean up after your dog.
• Children must be accompanied and supervised by an adult at all times.

PHOTO OPS: In addition to photos with Santa, you can take your picture on the Giant Grinch Chair, festive dog house, gingerbread house, and Christmas tree truck!

FUREVER TREE: The Furever Tree aka Pet Memorial Christmas Tree is a shimmering, touching, heartfelt tribute to cherished pets who are no longer with us. The tree will be available to adorn with mementos during the event. Located in front of the LoosePark Garden Center.

Make sure to "strut your stuff" in front of the JUDGES: Kathy Quinn, Fox 4; Damian Lair, IN KC Magazine; Taylor Smith, KC Rose Society and Erika White, Three Dog Bakery. Prizes are gift baskets from Three Dog Bakery and will be awarded following the parade.

Info: Guests can register for a DIY Treat Wreath Kit ($15) to take home and make, a Howliday Cookie Treat Tray ($10) and an exclusive upcycled Santa Pawk leash ($10). These items can be picked up at the Pre-Orders tent and must be pre-purchased.
