Santa Margarita River Trail Guided Hike - Willow Glen

Join The Wildlands Conservancy staff on a guided hike from our Willow Glen trailhead onto the trail-less-traveled during the peak Fall-color season.

We will meet with participants at the Fallbrook Library in order to rendezvous and sign liability waivers before heading down towards our Willow Glen Trailhead. This Trailhead is open to the public, but not listed as one of our primary trailheads due to its recondite nature, tucked within a residential neighborhood.

We will travel onto the Santa Margarita Trail South before joining with the 500ft Trail for spectacular fall colors and views of the valley.

The hike will be approximately 3-4 miles in total with around 500' of elevation gain. This hike will be considered moderate in difficulty and take around 2 hours total.

Please be sure to bring plenty of water and dress in layers, observing the most up to date weather forecasts as the temperatures of the 500ft Trail can significantly fluctuate due to its varying elevations and sun exposure. The expected temperatures as of 11/10/2024 sit just above 60 degrees.
