About this Event
Celebrate Pride Month with a special edition of the Sankofa Book Club inspired by the memoir “The Risk It Takes to Bloom: On Life and Liberation,” a powerful story of courage, transformation, and authenticity.
Presented in partnership with BLINC (Black LGBTQ+ Liberation, Inc.), this session will be facilitated by G Wright, Co‑Founder and Executive Director of BLINC, who will guide the discussion and moderate a panel exploring the book’s central themes.
The afternoon begins with a live performance and continues with an engaging conversation on identity, resilience, and liberation. Join us as we uplift Black LGBTQ+ voices in literature and share stories that inspire empowerment, reflection, and community connection.
Check out "The Risk It Takes to Bloom: On Life and Liberation" in the Broward County Library catalog.
