About this Event

Five historical societies from Chelsea, Cheltenham, Dingley, Mordialloc, Moorabbin, have joined together to present stories from our past that have influenced how we are now. Come along for the stories that connect you and your family to the times before the 1920s.
Chelsea Courthouse is a heritage listed building and an example of neo-classical architecture faithfully restored by Kingston Council to its original condition. The courthouse opened in 1929 and continued operations until 1985. It is well worth a look inside where you will also find ‘Sandbelt Stories’ focussed on the area from Aspendale to Carrum including Aspendale Gardens, Chelsea Heights and Patterson Lakes. Come along to see and hear about the impact of the railways, early farming, and camping and entertainment on the foreshore.
