Sanctuary Session: The Ballad of the Mountain Bansuri
About this Event
Join us at The Sanctuary Studio for an intimate gathering of improvised devotional music, poetry, stillness, and deep listening.
Led by Sanctuary founder Simon Drew, Sanctuary Sessions brings together musicians and instruments from around the world—including bansuri and tablas from India, shakuhachi from Japan, didgeridoo from Australia, and upright bass—to create a spontaneous landscape of sound.
The invitation is simple: enter the space, find a chair or a place on the rug, and make yourself comfortable. We’ll light a candle, settle into stillness, and allow the music to begin.
There is no set program. The music unfolds through improvisation, deep listening, and playful musical conversation—moving freely between sound, poetry, silence, and prayer. You are welcome to listen, meditate, pray, journal, lie down, or simply be present.
This session falls during the week of Simon’s birthday and will be an especially warm gathering, shared with dear friends, collaborators, and well-wishers.
Space is intentionally limited. Advance booking is recommended.
