Phantasm St

Phantasm Street is a Meanjin/Brisbane-based alternative-rock-shoegaze outfit. The band explores experimental sonic soundscapes, melded with a 60’s psych-pop edge, reminiscent of line-ups such as Dinosaur Jr, Sonic Youth, Stove and The Jesus and Mary Chain. Inventive melodic sensibilities are drawn from the psychedelic pop of the mid to late 1960s with influences from The Zombies, The Byrds and Emmit Rhodes. The quartet creates a huge, dreamy and fuzzed-out sound that engulfs your ears and uplifts your energy.

Bottlerockets

Bottlerockets are an eclectic 5-piece based in southern Meanjin. Led by frontman Tom Fitzgerald's unique approach to songwriting, with lyrics that switch from wry and sardonic to earnest and heartfelt as easily as the music switches between groovy psychy jams to Bowie inspired piano ballads (and the occasional detour into something resembling country).This breadth of scope is glued together by the tightness of the band, with an emphasis on musicianship and an infectious stage presence. Bottlerockets are dedicated to keeping audiences on their toes, and making every show a show to remember.
