About this Event
The San Mateo County Historical Association will honor recently retired Congresswoman Anna Eshoo as its 2025 San Mateo County History Maker.
The Historical Association has been giving this annual award since 2003. It is meant to recognize an individual or individuals who have made an important historical impact on San Mateo County and whose actions have also significantly affected development outside of the County. This history-making might have importance in people’s lives economically, socially, or politically. It may inspire lifestyle, educational, environmental or spiritual change.
Throughout her tenure, Representative Eshoo successfully passed 68 bills and had them signed into law by five Presidents, while two-thirds of her career was serving in the minority. She was a member of the Energy and Commerce Committee for 30 years and served as the Chair of the Energy and Commerce Health Subcommittee from 2018 to 2022 and as Ranking Member of the Energy and Commerce Communications and Technology Subcommittee from 2011 to 2016. She was the first woman to hold those positions.
Prior to her Congressional career, she served for ten years on the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors from 1982 to 1992
The dinner event will take place at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Foster City on Thursday, September 25, 2025.
