A Community Forum on the Future of MuniSan Francisco’s essential Muni transit system is facing a projected $322 million budget deficit by 2026, threatening service levels and the future of public transportation in the city. While ridership is recovering, Muni continues to face financial challenges as traditional revenue sources shift and costs rise. City leaders are exploring new funding strategies, including fare adjustments, toll increases, and regional measures—but will it be enough?
Join the San Francisco Eastern Neighborhoods Democratic Club for an in-depth discussion on Muni’s fiscal crisis, the challenges ahead, and what solutions are on the table.
Moderated by Mike Chen, Board Director, SFMTA
