Let’s create powerful rhythms with the beat of the drum, connect with our voices & raise the vibration. Come as you are and enjoy the vibe! This sacred gathering is a space to let the evening unfold with Drumming, Sound Journey, Dancing, Singing and celebrate through rhythm of the drum. Come receive many of the health benefits of community drumming including boosting your immune system, reduce stress, balance your nervous system and more. no drumming experience needed, just an open heart.

DRUM CLASS: 5-6:15 pm
Monette Marino will be teaching an all level djembe class with the history of the traditional West African Rhythm. Drums provided. $15
**Monette Marino is a world percussionist. She spent the majority of the last 20 years studying under Master Drum-mer Mamady Keita from Guinea. In 1999 she received her Teaching Certificate from Mr.Keita and opened a branch of Tam Tam Mandingue USA in San Diego, California. From 2004–2012 she managed Mamady’s world tours, assisted him in teaching master classes, and performed with his ensemble, Sewa Kan. She received her diplo-ma from Mamady Keita & Tam Tam Mandingue in 2011.
She has since branched out as a solo artist releasing her debut album “Coup d’Eclat” and also opened her own school of percussion called MO’RHYTHM. In addition, Monette Marino has created an iPhone App “Mo’Rhythm Africa – Play Along Djembe/Dunun App” now available on iTunes for iPhone/iPad/Apple TV. Prior to her involvement in West African percussion Monette studied folkloric and popular rhythms from Cuba, Brazil, and Korea.
DRUM CIRCLE: 6:30-8:30 pm
DONATION: $20.
Drums & percussive are provided or bring your own.
LOCATION: John D. Spreckels Masonic Lodge 3858 Front St. S.D. 92103 (S/W corners of Front & University Masonic Lodge building)
PARKING: Parking Lot or Street parking

SPECIAL GUEST: Kristina Bennett will be taking us on a sound journey with her singing bowls along with singing. Kristina is a singer-songwriter, sound healing practitioner and music teacher, with her main focus of yoga of the voice. She loves sharing her gift of music with people of all ages and encourages everyone to sing and create. Her recent album Shakti, earned her a World Entertainment Award for Best Global Traditional album and hit #1 on the iTunes New Age Chart in 2024. Mother Tree, which was released in 2022, also earned her a #1 on the iTunes New Age Chart. Kristina has over 30 years of singing, acting, and performing experience, and has been working with clients privately for 15 years. She has performed extetensively throughout her life and trained at Berklee College of Music. She is also a certified Sound, Voice, and Music Healing practitioner from the California Institute of Integral Studies, and a Grammy Recording Academy Member. She studied under world-renowned teacher, Silvia Nakkach, a Grammy nominated musician and sound healing pioneer. When not singing, you can find her practicing yoga, reading on sunset cliffs, and laughing with friends.
