San Diego River Cleanup with Local Veterans & Community

Join your local Veterans and community for a River cleanup! This free event is to help preserve our beautiful San Diego River and its surrounding environments. Volunteers will be tackling plastic debris and litter that accumulates in the River before it flows out into the ocean and lakes.

Due to the unpredictable and ever-changing topography and potential route modifications within the river, we would like to inform you that the exact address of our assembly point will be disclosed within 48 hours preceding the date of the cleanup activity. We aim to ensure the smooth coordination and safety of all participants and appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

San Diego:

Location: East Mission Valley

Park + Meet: East side of the parking lot next to Associated Technical College and the I-805. Nearest address is 2650 Camino Del Rio N, San Diego CA 92108.

• Arrive by 15 minutes prior for prompt check-in and to secure parking.
• See an RFV representative to check-in to be handed your bag and gloves.
• Wear dirt-friendly attire; long pants and sleeves advised. Consider hats and sunscreen for protection.
• Only closed-toe, sturdy footwear is permitted. No sandals or flats allowed.
• Bring a reusable water bottle to minimize plastic use.
• Light rain won’t cause cancellation.
• All necessary tools and supplies will be provided.
• Community service hours and Letters of Appreciation are verifiable for those who require them and check in.
• There are no restrooms on site; please make prior arrangements.
• For safety reasons, no pets are allowed at this event.

We love to support local businesses so we make it our mission to get a bite to eat and/or get a drink with the other Veterans and volunteers who came out at a local eatery.

Our programs, projects, and events are designed to connect people to our historic San Diego River and empower the community to steward and celebrate it.
