San Diego Hike—10/18: Nature Unplugged Hike-A-Thon

Join us on the trail, meet new friends and log miles as part of Nature Unplugged's 2026 Hike-A-Thon! Each hike is ranger-led in partnership with the County of San Diego's Park and Recreation.
Registration encouraged, no cost to participate.
MOUNT WOODSON GATEWAY COUNTY PRESERVE
The Mount Woodson Gateway County Preserve is an 84-acre property that is currently a part of the County’s to protect native chamise chaparral, oak woodland, coastal sage scrub habitats and a variety of dependent wildlife. There are currently no formal trails within this preserve.
The parking area offers East County residents and visitors safe, off-street parking for accessing the nearby Mount Woodson trail system, including Potato Chip Rock. The Mount Woodson trail system spans land managed by the City of San Diego, the City of Poway and the unincorporated community of Ramona.
There are 4 Parking Areas A-D providing approximately 200 public parking spaces, 7 ADA parking spaces, portable restrooms and emergency vehicle access.
The Mt. Woodson trailhead can be accessed from Parking Area A.

ABOUT THE HIKE-A-THON:
OCTOBER 1 - 31, 2026 | For the month of October, participants will be taking steps (literally and figuratively) to improve their own health, build community and advocate for less screen time and more green time. This event inspires people of all ages and abilities to get outdoors and raise funds to bring preventative mental health programming to schools and communities in need. Participants can log miles from anywhere in the world!
