Suggested Ticket DescriptionGeneral Rider Registration

Is this event suitable for beginners?

Riders should already know how to safely control an electric skateboard. This is not a riding lesson or beginner training course.

Can I attend with a regular skateboard?

Contact the organizer before registering. The route and group pace may be better suited for electric boards.

Can I bring a OneWheel, electric scooter, or electric unicycle?

Other personal electric vehicles may be accepted. Contact the organizer before the event to confirm.

Is a helmet required?

A helmet is strongly recommended. The organizer may require helmets for all riders.

How fast will the group ride?

The pace will depend on pedestrian traffic, boardwalk conditions, and the experience of the group. This is a scenic social ride, not a race.

Will we return to the starting point?

The organizer will confirm whether the event is a round-trip ride or ends near the Coast Guard station area. Participants should review the final event instructions before arriving.

What happens if my battery dies?

Each rider is responsible for their own battery capacity and transportation. Ride leaders may not be able to tow riders or provide charging.

What happens if the weather is bad?

Registered attendees will receive updates through Eventbrite if the event is delayed, rerouted, rescheduled, or canceled.

Are spectators welcome?

Friends and family may join the meet-up, but only registered and properly equipped riders should participate in the group ride.

Is there an age requirement?

Suggested Ticket NameParticipants under 18 should attend with a parent or legal guardian and may be required to provide signed permission. The organizer should confirm the minimum age before publishing the event.

Ride the San Diego Bayfront

Come experience downtown San Diego from an electric skateboard.

This community ride will begin at:

1011 Union St.
San Diego, CA 92101

From the meeting point, we will ride toward the waterfront and continue along the bayfront boardwalk, passing some of San Diego’s best waterfront scenery as we head northwest toward the airport and the U.S. Coast Guard Station.

The ride is designed to be social, scenic, and welcoming. We will maintain a comfortable group pace, stop when needed, and be respectful of pedestrians, cyclists, businesses, and other boardwalk users.

Whether you ride an electric skateboard regularly or simply want to meet other local riders, this is a great opportunity to explore San Diego, connect with the community, and enjoy an afternoon or evening along the bay.

Event Schedule

Check-In and Meet-Up: 6:00 PM PST

Ride Begins: 6:15 PM PST

Estimated Return or Event End: 7:15PM PST

Please arrive at least 15 minutes before departure so there is enough time for introductions, equipment checks, and the pre-ride safety briefing.

Planned Route

The ride will begin at 1011 Union St. in San Diego.

From there, the group will travel toward the downtown waterfront and ride along the bayfront boardwalk, heading in the direction of the airport and Coast Guard station.

The route may include portions of the waterfront near:

  • Downtown San Diego
  • Little Italy
  • The Embarcadero
  • Waterfront Park
  • Harbor Island and surrounding bayfront areas
  • The Coast Guard station area near San Diego International Airport

The final route may be adjusted based on construction, pedestrian traffic, weather, road closures, or group conditions.

Ride Style

This is a relaxed community ride and not a competition.

The group will travel at a safe and manageable pace. Riders should stay together, follow the ride leaders, slow down in crowded areas, and yield to pedestrians at all times.

No racing, dangerous passing, reckless riding, or disruptive behavior will be permitted.

Battery Requirements

Please arrive with a fully charged board.

Each rider is responsible for confirming that their board has enough range to safely complete the planned route. The organizer cannot guarantee access to charging stations during the ride.

Riders should know their board’s real-world range and account for speed, hills, rider weight, wind, battery age, and riding conditions.

Safety Requirements

A helmet is strongly recommended and may be required by the event organizer.

All participants must:

  • Ride under control
  • Obey traffic signals and posted signs
  • Yield to pedestrians

Any major event updates will be sent to registered attendees through Eventbrite.

Parking and Transportation

Participants are responsible for arranging their own parking or transportation to the meeting point.

Please allow additional time to find parking in downtown San Diego. Consider using a rideshare service, public transportation, or nearby paid parking facilities.

Do not leave boards, chargers, helmets, or valuables unattended in vehicles.

Important Legal and Liability Notice

Participation is voluntary and involves inherent risks, including falls, collisions, equipment failure, traffic hazards, pedestrian contact, road conditions, property damage, serious injury, or death.

Each participant is responsible for evaluating their own experience, equipment, physical ability, and willingness to participate.

By registering and attending, participants acknowledge that they are riding at their own risk and agree to take personal responsibility for their conduct, equipment, and safety.
