San Antonio Community Invited to Celebrate New Michaels Store with Free Family Fun

Michaels is inviting the San Antonio community to celebrate the grand opening of its new store at Bandera Pointe on Friday, September 11. The free event will feature family-friendly activities, free crafts, live entertainment, giveaways, local food favorites and more. 

Attendees will also be among the first to explore Michaels’ new experiential store format, including inspirational vignettes for creating and celebrating; expanded services and events like customization bars and flexible classrooms; and an upgraded party and event space designed to strengthen local community connection. 

The free event will include: 

• Ribbon cutting (9:00 a.m.) 
• Local Makers Market craft fair 
• Armadillo racing 
• Mechanical bull 
• Dunk tank 
• Flamenco dancers 
• Kids’ games 
• Pet adoptions 
• Live demos 

Michaels is proud to celebrate with community partners including The Chill Stop, The Jiggly Wiggly, Kar's Shaved Ice, Team Birria Taco Truck, Blooming Bean Coffee, Rustico Coffee, Texas Roadhouse, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Best Friends Animal Society and 100 Club of San Antonio. 

The celebration is free and open to the public.
