The Sabbat of Samhain is a time when the veil is thin between the worlds of living and dead and the realm of the faery. The powers of divination, clairvoyance, and the supernatural communication are strengthened at their peak.
It is a powerful time to communicate with lost loved ones. This is also a time where souls that are leaving this physical plane can pass out and souls that are reincarnating can pass in. Many celebrate Samhain as an acknowledgment that without death, there can be no rebirth.
Tradition holds that Samhain is a celebration of the end of the harvest and the start of the coldest half of the year, and with this transition, it’s also celebrated as the beginning of the spiritual new year. It is a time of reflection, or looking back over the last year (farewelling the old year and welcome in the new).
At Samhain, the darkness increases and the Goddess reigns in her powerful aspect of the Crone. The God passes into the underworld to become reborn of the Goddess again at Yule (Winter Solstice). It is a time to honour those who have gone before us – relatives, loved ones, ancestors.
Linda Hogan wrote, ‘Walking. I am listening to a deeper way. Suddenly all my ancestors are behind me. Be still, they say. Watch and listen. You are the result of the love of thousands.’
And, we listen. More than ever we are listening to the older, wiser parts of ourselves that whisper to us through our dreams, through energetic connection, meditation, latent skills or knowledge.
Or, you are called, haunted perhaps to visit the wildness of Scotland, the forested and craggy paths Ireland, a desert oasis or walk the dusty barren red plains of Africa. There are places on this earth - and beyond, that call to you. That calls you to explore your roots, your lineage, your history.
This Labyrinth Walk will collectively honour our ancestors. Bring with you a token to carry with you and in mind, heart, and Spirit an ancestor who will walk with you.
In sacred space before entering the Labyrinth you will share something special that connects you to them. This can look like a shared hobby or craft, a meaningful memory, some words of wisdom, the love of a place in the world. If you do not wish to share within the circle, place your hand over your heart and we will move on to the next person.
Collectively we will connect with the lineages within the circle and send acknowledgement, blessings and healing through our ancestral lines.
This is a FREE event. Suitable for 18+ You are respectively asked to arrive on time. Messages will not reach me as I am constructing the path with intention. We gather to set our intention together before entering the Labyrinth. This is for collective energy as well as to support your own energetic focus. Labyrinths are a spiritual practice. Missing this phase means the walk is simply entertainment.
Keep in mind that we meet on a public beach. We gather to share energy and intention with an open heart. This is a great opportunity to practice being in a high vibration bubble of awareness and leave the outside world behind.
A labyrinth is transformative walk which can transmute one state of being to that of another which is of a higher vibration. Unlike a maze it has only one path that leads from the outer edge in a circular way to the centre. It’s an energetic spiritual process that can help you find answers to questions, clear energetic blocks or reconnect to your creativity.
How do you recognise or acknowledge Sacred Space when attending a Spiritual gathering or ceremony?
A Labyrinth in its entirety is Sacred Space. Walking across the lines can disrupt the energy that is being harnessed in its construction. Walking through the middle of the circle disrupts its energy.
Listen to the instructions from the facilitator. They will usually have clear directions for before, during and after a ceremony. If you are unsure how to take part respectfully ask to facilitator ahead of time. You will find they are very happy to set your mind at ease for you to be as comfortable as possible and to receive the most from your experience.
