Samhain is one of the most important festivals in the Wheel of the Year. It marks the beginning of the dark half of the year. Samhain is traditionally associated with:• Honouring ancestors and the dead
• The thinning of the veil between worlds
• Letting go, endings, and transition
• Reflection before winter sets in
Samhain is about closure and crossing thresholds. Many people light candles for ancestors, set up a small ancestor altar, or do quiet ritual work focused on remembrance and release. This will be the focus of this year’s community ritual. Please bring:
* Something to represent your ancestor(s) on the community altar - as many items as you need
* Something to write to the ancestor(s) - parchment will be provided
The contribution is $20 per person - under 16s free. Children are welcome if accompanied by an adult caregiver. There will be vegetarian and vegan snacks and non alcoholic drinks provided after the ritual
