Filled with as many good yarns from the bush as his debut book, and including a guide to edible native flora and fauna, this is a book that will inspire and delight in equal parts!
And the best part? You can come and see Sam live in the shop, to talk about his new book, his conservation work and a whole lot more yarns! There will be time for questions you have for Sam too, so come prepared!

Time: Doors open at 6.15 pm for a 6.30 pm start.
Tickets: $20 from Humanitix, $25 at the door on the night if not sold-out All money going to Island Hills Station [https://www.skedaddle.co.nz/conservation] - to help them trap predators and create a space of native flora and fauna to thrive, with the hope of introducing kiwi to the area.
For those of you who don't know Sam:
Sam Gibson is a dad, bushman, hunter, trapper, forager & conservationist. who runs the Instagram page Sam the Trap Man [https://www.instagram.com/sam_the_trap_man], which has 34.4k followers. He's spent his life in the bush hunting, trapping and fishing, and has worked for DOC as well as private conservation companies.
In 2019 he established the Eastern Whio Link conservation project, restoring whio (native blue duck) to the rivers of the Waioeka on the East coast, where he was born and raised. In 2025 he won a seat on the Gisborne District Council. Sam lives with his partner Roimata and their two young children in Gisborne.
