About this Event
Join us for a night celebrating the healing power of music and literature with Sam Sussman, author of the debut novel , in conversation with actor, musician, and writer Todd Almond, star of the Broadway musical Girl From the North Country and author of .
Boy From the North Country has been hailed as "a monumental event for anyone who cares about Bob Dylan" and "required reading for Dylanologists eager to see yet another side of their idol." Based on Sussman's Harper’s Magazine memoir essay, “The Silent Type: On (Possibly) Being Bob Dylan’s Son," the novel is also a meditation on loss and grief and has been described by Kirkus as “the most beautiful and moving mother-son story in recent memory."
Sam and Todd will discuss the artist’s journey and the transformative power of music, literature, and community to heal grief and loss. This event is co-sponsored by Sad Dads Book Club, a book club inspired by the music of The National and the intersection of music and literature.
