The annual Sam Pitcher Memorial Concert is a fundraiser for Music Scholarships for students in grades 7 -12 to attend summer music camps or programs. The fund was established after Sam passed away in 2003, and to date 95 scholarships have been awarded. Sam was a talented young Ketchikan musician who participated in many McPherson and Kayhi Bands as well as the rock group, The Rubber Band. Admission to the concert is by donation to the Scholarship Fund. The Sam Pitcher Memorial Fund is a fiscally sponsored project of The Ketchikan Area Arts and Humanities Council. Applications for scholarships for summer 2025 are available now and due on December 1, 2024.
