We are offering this long anticipated workshop with Happy Girl Kitchen production and all around kitchen queen, Mayra. Mayra has worked with Happy Girl for 14 years and many of you know her if you have been in our kitchen. She is excited to share her cooking skills from her native country with you. Come and spend a delightful evening learning about this staple meal from El Salvador. Mayra will lead us in making the masa for the pupusas and preparing two perfect fillings - beans and cheese, which is a classic, and a vegan option as well. Pupusas are always accompanied by a cabbage salad (curtido) and a tomato sauce (salsa) for a complete meal. We will make this entire special meal alongside Mayra, and hopefully everyone will get to hear her incredible laugh! We look forward to sharing this important meal from Mayra’s home country with you. This workshop will be led completely in Spanish. Because it’s a hands-on class, language will not be a barrier. Additionally, Happy Girl chef, Suzanne, will be in the kitchen with you all and will be available to answer any questions as well as offer translation, if needed.
A light meal will be served in the beginning of the workshop and you will also dine on papusas at the end (and/or take them home) This is going to be a really fun workshop, so register early as they tend to fill up fast!
