Salute to Young Musicians!

It’s always special when the CCCBand collaborates with the most outstanding musicians from our local high schools. This year, the 2024 Caneva Scholarship winner, Caleb Liu, will perform Mozart’s Bassoon Concerto, and we will present a variety of other exciting music, including selections by Gershwin and Sousa as well as music from the movies “Hook” and “Star Wars.”

About 30-35 of the most outstanding band members from the San Dieguito Union School District’s high schools are chosen by their band directors to share the stage with the CCCBand at this concert each spring, and these students are also given the opportunity to audition for scholarships. The lucky recipient of the highest honor, the Caneva Scholarship, is invited to return to perform a solo with the band the following year. One can’t help but be inspired and energized by these outstanding and dedicated young musicians! Come join the CCCBand in honoring these talented students and supporting music education.
