Nearly four centuries later, this tradition of reverence continues to thrive, making Plymouth the perfect setting for our Salute to Service Celebration.

Why Plymouth Memorial Hall and Its Military Connection

At the heart of this legacy stands Plymouth Memorial Hall, a venerable institution with deep ties to the military community. Since its inception in 1924, as a refuge for returning soldiers seeking solace and connection, it has remained a steadfast symbol of honor and appreciation for those who have served. From hosting spaghetti suppers in 1926, fostering camaraderie among veterans, to its renaming as "The Memorial School" in 1950, this hall has been a living memorial to the sacrifices of Plymouth's veterans from World Wars I and II.

Today, Plymouth Memorial Hall continues its noble mission, serving as a poignant reminder of the courage and commitment of those who have worn the uniform. Its main entrance now stands as a War Memorial, adorned with artifacts and tributes to Vietnam veterans, Gold Star families, and all who have served. Moreover, it remains a vital hub for veteran organizations such as the American Legion and DAV, ensuring that the legacy of service and sacrifice endures, honored by present and future generations alike.
