Join us for a special weekend honoring our nation’s history, service, and patriotism through music, military heritage, and ceremonial tradition. This family friendly event will be educational and interactive for all ages and all who come!
Saturday June 13th
Experience the sights and sounds of Civil War artillery with Taylors Battery – 1st Illinois Light Artillery Co beginning at 9:30am!
Every hour, Taylors Battery will present an engaging program explaining their role during the Civil War. Watch as they demonstrate original artillery pieces, show how equipment was transported, and share the daily life of soldiers — all while dressed in authentic period uniforms. Families are welcome to take free photos and enjoy this hands-on living history experience.
Meet Major Richard Conover, portrayed by Ron Kirchgessner, Surgeon for the 108th Illinois Infantry Field Hospital, as he presents a fascinating display of medical instruments used during the Civil War. Discover the tools, techniques, and challenges faced by field surgeons while caring for soldiers on the front lines—an educational and engaging glimpse into wartime medicine.
We are thrilled to announce that President Abraham Lincoln (Kevin Wood) will be joining us! Get ready to meet “Honest Abe” in person from 10AM - 3PM—he’ll be dressed in period attire, mingling with attendees, answering your questions, and even posing for photos!
Don’t miss his abridged program, “Abraham Lincoln: A New Birth of Freedom”, perfect for all ages. Learn about his life and the history of the USA—from Independence to the Civil War—as he brings Lincoln to life right before your eyes.
Experience a living history presentation highlighting historic artillery, military tradition, and American heritage.
At 7pm, the Rock River Jazz Band will have a concert playing some of your favorite patriotic music at the RB&W District Park amphitheater.

Posting of Colors by the Rock Falls American Legion - 1:30PM
A meaningful and respectful flag ceremony conducted by our local American Legion, honoring our flag and the values it represents.
Also featuring the 144th Army Concert Band at the RB&W District Park amphitheater - 2PM
