Salt Air & Solidarity: Queer & Trans Community Mutual Aid Beach Day
About this Event
Salt Air & Solidarity
Queer & Trans Community Beach Day, with Mutual Aid Giveaways
Queer, trans and allies beach day at DCR Revere Beach, focused on community wellbeing, mutual aid and belonging. There will be community-led workshops (schedule coming up!), free snacks and water, and activities for kids. To support everyone's health, we'll be giving out supplies and resources for survival, harm reduction, gender affirming resources, and wellbeing. We'll be near the Shirley Ave Bathhouse, which is two blocks from the Revere Beach MBTA station, an accessible T station.
At 4 pm, Nyasia Thique Jones will present a drag showcase, with performances in Spanish, Arabic, Haitian Creole and English.
The beach is for everyone, and we are all stronger together: A limited number of beach and swim wheelchairs will be available to borrow. There will be a sensory friendly space. Masks are encouraged, and will be provided. There is a mobility mat near the bathhouse that goes about halfway down the beach.
All bodies are beach bodies! Please wear whatever is most comfortable for you.
Please email [email protected] or message us on Instagram (@TransMutual_Aid) if you need any accommodations (we will try our best!) or you have questions.
Sponsored by a grant from Save the Harbor, Save the Bay. Come be in community with us!
