Salseros Get-Together

Fourth Saturday of the month, so it must be us!
A disclaimer first, I am concerned that we get hit by another heat wave and if temperatures get stupidly high, I will have to cancel this event. Click interested or going and you will get notified about any announcements.
All being well we shall go ahead so come, join our fabulous community event where we learn, practice, get lost in the music, chat, hang out and have a jolly good time.
Please note the venue address is Wellington Street South, HX1 2LY - apparently Facebook shows 7 South Parade on phones no matter what we do, there is no entrance on South Parade, it's a fenced off area.
19:30 doors open
20:00 taster salsa class with Gosia
20:30- midnight Dance Dance Dance!
£10 on doors
Not doing pre-sell this time in case it has to be cancelled. Too much faff with refunds.
Seasoned dancers - come around, have fun and inspire newbies.
Newbies - come around and have a go practicing what you've learnt in a safe environment. Get your mambo-miles in 😃
Of course we have free entry for fellow dance teachers in recognition of their work and commitment to growing our dancing community.
Our wristband policy:
There’s the normal stripey wristband that 95% wear and you can totally ask them to dance.
We have the blue “I brought watermelons” wristband, which is for those who have not done any classes, have no clue what they are doing and want some guidance from dancers.
We also have the red, “please don’t ask” wristband. This was introduced after lockdown when not everyone was comfortable being close to strangers. It is now for anyone who is recovering from injury, illness, chemo… anything that will make them vulnerable to falls or injuries and they can only dance with their safe partners who know what not to do and where not to touch, to not aggravate their condition. Please don’t ask anyone with red wristband and don’t enquire what their health problem is.
Music policy: 85-90% salsa, any era, any style, starting slow to help our beginners find their feet, and letting you practice your new moves, gradually getting more complex and faster. Splash of kizomba, bachata, cha cha cha, and I'll play you 1 merengue.
This is a venue ran by volunteers, with a very cheap bar and a very good supply of non-alcoholic drinks for drivers alongside your usual booze. Please support the bar and don't bring your own drinks.
Venue is easily accessible by public transport and parking on street in the evening is free.
See you there! 🙂
