🌟 Intro to Salsa – Foundations (Hybrid Format) 🌟Learn Salsa in 2026 — built for the social dance floor.
This beginner-friendly Salsa Foundations class is designed for total newcomers and dancers with some experience who want stronger timing, cleaner technique, and real confidence at socials.
Rather than teaching one style in isolation, we intentionally blend the two most common social salsa formats so you feel prepared whether you’re dancing slotted partnerwork or Rueda de Casino.
This class prepares you for:
Linear Salsa (On1, slotted partner dance)
Cuban Salsa / Casino & Rueda de Casino
Core Foundations You’ll Learn
🟦 Shared Salsa Fundamentals (for all styles):
Salsa timing & rhythm (staying on beat)
Weight transfer & basic time steps (side, forward, cumbia)
Connection, frame, and lead–follow communication
Musical awareness for social dancing
🟩 Linear Salsa (On1 – Slotted Partnerwork):
Basic right & left turns
Crossbody lead (Dile Que No)
Reverse crossbody lead & simple combinations
Smooth transitions for social partner flow
🟧 Cuban Salsa / Casino & Rueda de Casino:
Guapea (open position foundation)
Abajo (closed position foundation)
Dame & core Casino transitions
Intro to fun Rueda calls, timing, and group awareness
✨ No experience needed — start where you are and grow at your own pace.
✨ Experienced dancers are welcome to refine fundamentals and explore variations.
🎶 After class, stay for the social dance and practice everything in a welcoming, supportive community.
