Vocalist Sally Doherty and pianist Paul Kilvington bring a shared love for Latin American music, and an evening of songs from South America performed in their original languages of Portuguese and Spanish, with influences from latin, jazz and folk music.
A singer with a subtle and nuanced approach, Sally Doherty has released 12 albums, and performed all over the world, as well as writing and performing for BBC drama and short films, touring Europe with Italian band Planet Funk, featuring on Richard Hawley’s ‘Lady’s Bridge’ album and working with electronic artist Scanner.
Pianist Paul Kilvington combines a rhythmic sense and powerful technique with a knack for finding the unexpected and surprising twists in his improvisations. Leader of popular latin jazz group Amazonia in the 90s, he has worked with Sally for many years, and together they’ve performed at jazz festivals in Manchester, Marlborough, Wigan and across the UK. Music played with knowledge, delicacy, and simpatico understanding.

Two musicians with an incredible depth of experience trombonist Kevin Holbrough and guitarist Jamie Taylor bring the delightful and compelling duo music from their upcoming new album, mixing original compositions and songs from the great American Songbook, influenced by celebrated duo recordings by the likes of JJ Johnson and Joe Pass.
A musician with a melodic and swinging approach Kevin Holbrough is widely respected performing throughout the UK and Europe at events including Glastonbury, The London Palladium, The Royal Albert Hall, London Jazz Café, and Cheltenham Jazz Festival, and with artists including the Mingus Big Band, Dennis Rollins “Boneyard Group”, Dave Newton, Sebastian De Krom, James Morrison, Phil Woods, and many more.

One of the UK’s most respected guitarists, a poised and harmonically astute musician, Jamie Taylor works with the likes of Jeremy Brown, Steve Watts, Kate Williams, Dave O’Higgins, Wayne Escoffery. Sheryl Bailey, Baptiste Herbin, Steve Fishwick, Alex Clarke, and many other fine musicians from both sides of the Atlantic. You may have caught him at The Lescar gigs with his own quartet featuring drum legend Sebastiaan DeKrom, and with organ trio JDM and the innovative Universal Time.
