SALISBURY YOUNG ARTIST OF THE YEAR 2025Trevor Horswell, the Curator of Gallery 21 is delighted to announce the Sponsorship of a competition to find the best young artists studying in Salisbury, aged between 16 and 18 years old.
Gallery 21 is currently holding an exhibition of the world renowned, artist originally from Ukraine, Andrei Protsouk - 'The Art of Love'. Andrei's dramatic and highly colourful composition, using his renowned, Modern Geometric style really needs to be seen.
It is within this gallery where the final 16 artists from the 4 schools participating, will hang their paintings, for the judging process to be completed, of the final paintings selected, together with the announcement of the overall winning entry, from which the final 4 paintings will be Judged.
The Judges will be Trevor Horswell and well-known local artist, Karen Welsh. One wonders who will become the first student to hold the title and become the first 'Salisbury Artist of the Year'.
The Gallery 21 perpetual Trophy will be awarded to the Winning Artist, this to be displayed within their school.
The four finalists will each be given a complete professional artist’s kit to encourage their continuing discovery of their evolving but recognised talents.
Over the coming years this award will be opened to a much wider school audience but during it's 1st trial year the four schools participating are:-
Godolphin School, South Wiltshire Grammar School, Sarum academy and Bishops Wordsworth.
