Salimpour Belly Dance Fundamentals 101 (S1) - Fundamentals 101 (S1) starts with Suhaila Salimpour technique basics. You will learn the necessary tools to develop physical strength and mind-body connection, finger cymbals, history, technique, musicality, and more skills to continue through the program and aid you in other dance training. This workshop will cover technique that is fundamental to all styles and genres of belly dance and will undoubtedly raise the level of your dance and creativity.
How long is it?
The 15 hour training will be split over 3 days.
Friday Mar 28 (6 hrs) – 10am to 1pm, (lunch 1-2), 2pm to 5pm
Saturday Mar 29 (6 hrs) – 10am to 1pm, (lunch 1-2), 2pm to 5pm
Sunday Mar 30 (3 hrs) – 10am to 1pm, (lunch 1-2), “optional testing” 2pm (approximately 1 hour)
*On the 3rd day you can choose to test into Level 1 and get your certification.
Course Tuition
The intensive total tuition is $450 for 15 hours, before March 25 ($475 late registration March 25). You can submit the entire amount or submit payments with the total being due by the beginning of the first day of the workshop. Janelle has been training with the Salimpour School since 2001, and completed her professional teaching license in 2022. She has achieved her Suhaila format (S5) and Jamila Step Vocabulary (J5) teacher certifications, and assisted Suhaila as a TA during several in-person certification workshops. Janelle is excited to help guide you towards your dance goals!
