FORTY YEARS AGO, A GROUNDBREAKING EAST-MEETS-WEST COLLABORATION REVOLUTIONALIZED THE THEATRE WORLD.In 1983, playwright Arthur Miller ventured to China to stage a production of Death of a Salesman with theatre icon Ying Ruocheng
playing Willy Loman. Despite language barriers, they undertook the
monumental challenge of presenting a play deeply rooted in the
American Dream to a Communist Chinese audience. Inspired by
Ying and Miller’s memoirs, playwrights Leanna Brodie and Jovanni
Sy unveil the unlikely East-West collaboration that forged a daring
international alliance on the stage.
