Join us for a special Bio-Blitz! Help us document the frogs and salamanders found in the park with a weekend of activities. We will be exploring the park with scientists, naturalists, students, and professors and the public is encouraged to join us.
We’ll be exploring Canyon Mouth Park and hiking Canyon Mouth Trail, which is a 2 mile moderate hike that follows Little River.
While Canyon Mouth Park typically charges $15 per vehicle fee, admission will be free If you come for the Bio-Blitz.
Participants should wear sturdy hiking footwear and bring water, and a snack if desired. Leashed dogs and children are welcome.
Meeting Location: Canyon Mouth Park. Canyon Mouth Park is located off Alabama Highway 273 in Cedar Bluff, Alabama, between Highway 35 and Alabama Highway 68. Turn onto County Road 275, stay to the right, follow the road to the gate, and stop at the fee booth and mention you’re here for the Bio-Blitz.

10:00 am – Salamander Hike on Powell Trail
2:30 pm – Screening of Salabama
Weather Notice: As with all outdoor programs, hikes may be canceled due to rain, storms, or unsafe trail conditions. If weather is questionable, please check with the Canyon Center before attending.
