Saint Nicolas Celebration: a 2-in-1 event for kids and adults

Come and celebrate the Saint Nicolas Day with us on Saturday, December 7, 2024.

This event will have 2 parts:

Part 1: For kids aged 5 to 11 years old, from 5:00pm to 7:30pm.

Part 2: For all, adults and kids starting at 7:30pm.

Each part of the event requires the purchase of separate tickets (please read below).
Part 1 from 5:00 - 7:30 p.m. - « Saint Nicolas pour les enfants »

Come with your children to celebrate Saint Nicolas Day: an ideal event for children aged 5 to 11 years old. Kids must be accompanied by a parent/adult during the whole event. One parent/adult can accompany up to 3 children.

Several activities and workshops will be offered:

• Make Mannele (Saint Nicolas shaped brioche bread)
• Make and bake Bredele(traditional Alsatian Christmas cookies)
• Join a festive crafts workshop
• Meet Saint Nicolas himself, who will bring gifts for well-behaved children :)
• Listen to the Saint Nicolas legend in French
  Location: LaDurée Boutique, 3060 M Street NW, Washington DC 20007
  After entering, proceed to the back of the store. The event will take place in the kitchen, not in the store area.

Tickets Part 1: $10 per child. Space is limited to 18 children.

Tickets for accompanying parents/adults who would like to take part in the "Dîner de Saint Nicolas" at 7:30pm have to be purchased separately (Dinner is free for children participating in Part 1).

Part 2 at 7:30pm - « Dîner de Saint-Nicolas »

Come and taste winter specialties typical of the famous Alsatian Christmas markets, including Tarte Flambée on baguette, ChristStollen fruit cake, and Alsatian drinks.

Tickets:
Adult Alsace DC member: $20
Adult Alsace DC non-member: $25
Free for children aged 5 to 11 who participated in Part 1, the "Saint Nicolas pour les enfants".

Teenagers aged 12 to 18 years old are welcome to join and will need to purchase an adult ticket.

Note: Parking in Georgetown can be hard to find, make sure to give yourself sufficient time ahead of the event so that the activities can start on time.
