Sagmor Vineyard Dedication Ceremony
About this Event
Sagmor Vineyard Texas Historical Marker Dedication Ceremony
Join the Lubbock County Historical Commission as we celebrate the dedication of a Texas Historical Marker honoring Sagmor Vineyard, a pioneering vineyard whose legacy helped shape the Texas wine industry.
In the 1960s, Clinton "Doc" McPherson planted grapes at Sagmor Vineyard on the Texas High Plains, helping demonstrate that premium wine grapes could thrive in West Texas. His vision and dedication laid the foundation for the modern Texas wine industry and continue to influence winemakers across the state today.
The dedication ceremony will be held at McPherson Cellars, where guests are invited to commemorate this significant milestone alongside members of the community, the Texas wine industry, and the McPherson family.
