Safer Recruitment Training for Education
About this Event
"I do not think there is any organisation that can be completely confident that it does not harbour a child abuser. It must be recognised that abusers can be highly intelligent, articulate and charismatic but manipulative people... Any organisation could be duped by such an individual.”
The Dame Janet Smith Review into safeguarding failings at the BBC
If you are involved in the interview process for education settings, our half day safer recruitment in education course is what you need to keep your establishment safe.
Keeping Children Safe in Education states that "Governing bodies and proprietors should ensure that those involved with the recruitment and employment of staff to work with children have received appropriate safer recruitment training" (paragraph 212). This is a requirement in addition to the expectation that governors "ensure that at least one of the persons who conducts an interview has completed safer recruitment training" (paragraph 213).
Our safer recruitment training looks at why this requirement is in place, and the considerations for safer decision making throughout the recruitment process, from planning, through advertising, applications and shortlisting, interviews and pre-appointment checks and the final offer.
