About this Event
Foundations of Hope is Safe Shelter’s first annual fundraiser, dedicated to supporting families experiencing homelessness in Western North Carolina. This event will bring together community members, local businesses, and partners to raise essential funds for Safe Shelter’s operations and capital projects. Through participation and contributions, attendees will have a direct impact on the lives of families in need, providing them with safe shelter, housing assistance, and critical resources. Foundations of Hope marks the beginning of an ongoing commitment to building stronger, more resilient communities, ensuring that no family is left behind in their journey toward stability.
General Admission – $50
- Admission for one to Foundations of Hope, Safe Shelter’s first annual fundraiser
- An evening of networking, community connection, and support for families experiencing homelessness
- Directly supports Safe Shelter’s mission to provide emergency housing and resources
Pay It Forward – $100
- Admission for you + covers the cost of a ticket for someone who may not otherwise be able to attend
- Supports Safe Shelter’s commitment to inclusivity and community-building
Sponsor a Night of Shelter – $250
- Admission for you + covers the cost for 2 families at Safe Shelter including all food, access to clinical and resource navigation staff.
- Helps provide safe, stable housing and essential services to those in need
Buy a Table – $500 (Seats 10)
- Reserve a table for you and your friends, colleagues, or community members
- Enjoy a shared experience while making a collective impact
- Supports Safe Shelter’s ongoing work to provide emergency housing and critical resources

About YMI Cultural Center
- Safe Shelter is honored to partner with the YMI Cultural Center as the host and a sponsor of our event. As one of the oldest Black cultural centers in the United States, the YMI has been a cornerstone of Asheville’s Black community since 1892, dedicated to preserving and promoting African American arts, culture, and heritage. With a mission rooted in justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion, the YMI continues to uplift and empower through dynamic programs and community engagement. Their historic space, originally funded by George Vanderbilt to support Black workers at the Biltmore Estate, now serves as a vital hub for education, business, and cultural celebration. We are proud to host our event in this landmark institution, reflecting our shared commitment to community, equity, and meaningful impact.
